- How far can the people who must be there realistically travel?
- What total cost per guest are you comfortable asking of them?
- How many nights will guests be expected to stay?
- Who is handling guest questions — you, a planner, or a travel advisor?

Legal marriage requirements, residency periods, weather windows, vendor availability and whether the property hosts one wedding at a time all belong in the first round of research, not the fifth.

What do you want to feel on the morning after? Answer that honestly and most of the other decisions resolve themselves.
